I mean I have faith of a sort… of an inconsistent multi-influence nature that I’d rather even not bother to try to define, personally. For what purpose and why is it necessary, convention to religious faith, that is? I would agree the words are of significance and worldly importance and of tremendous value and scale in a good many persons sense of existence and belonging. Ritualistic and bound in rites and rite of passage…
One problem I have with religious belief is an instinctive personal determination that there is no such thing as blasphemy in the sense the term is used, it is a falsehood that makes no meaningful sense to me at all in terms of my own peculiar failing grasp at religion and / or religious belief. I’m not even trying to necessarily understand, but I like some of the words and pictures, aspects of architecture, place, site, allegory … much of the history seems horrific at the bat of an ear or eyelid, so it doesn’t bear thinking about too much, religion, in the shape-shifting version of The Good Book(s) I never quite ever get my head round so why bother trying in that sense…
I should probably stop writing there… butt NOTt trying to get a point aCROSS can be just as dangerous and potentially negligent as putting your foot in your mouth three-fold or MORE and less…
